Structure (s), system (s). or component (s) involved:

Shutdown Service Water:(SSW) System, Active valves 3.

Description 'of Chservation:

There is a discrepancy' between a design document Attachment to' active valve specification Form 350-8, and FSAR sections 1.8 and 3.9.2.2.2 regarding conformance to Regulatory Gui,de 1.48.'

i y

FSAR Section 1.8 states that operability may be demonstrated by a detailed deformation analysis or by seismic testing. FSAR Section '3.9.2.2.2.

comits to analysis accompanied by testing. Form 350-8 allows analysis'or.

testing or a combination of both..

~ O 4.

Significance of Observation:

i These sections of the FSAR may not have been adequately coordinated and reviewed to accurately reflect the design document confomance to Regulatory Guide 1.48.
