Omaha Public Power District (OPPD) Response to NRC Bulletin No. 92-01, " Failure Of Thermo-Lag 330 Fire Barrier System To Maintain Cabling In Wide Cable Trays And Small Conduits Free From Fire Damage" NRC Bulletin No. 92-01 requested that licensees provide a written notification statin whether or not Thermo-Lag 330 fire barrier systems are installed in their facili ies.
The Fort Calhoun Station (FCS) Safe Shutdown Analysis (EA-FC-89-055, Revision 1) was reviewed to identify areas where credit is taken for 1-hour or 3-hour fire wrap systems.
EA-FC-89-055 takes credit only for a single 1-hour fire wrap system located in the lower electrical penetration room (Fire Area 34A).
Documentation associated with the modification that installed the 1-hour fire wrap in Fire Area 34A identifies it as a 3M brand Interam E50A flexible wrap system. Thus, no loermo-Lag 330 fire barriers are installed at FCS and therefore the compensatory actions requested by NRC Bulletin No. 92-01 are not applicable to GPPD.
