VERIFICATION OF ACCEPTED VERSION OF GLOBAL NUCLEAR FUEL -

AMERICAS LICENSING TOPICAL REPORT NEDE-33885P-A, REVISION 1, CONTROL ROD DROP ACCIDENT APPLICATION METHODOLOGY (EPID L-2018-TOP-0006)

Dear Ms. Catts:

By letter dated March 27, 2020 (Letter No. M200034, Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML20091K214), Global Nuclear Fuel - Americas (GNF-A) submitted the accepted Proprietary and Non-Proprietary approval (-A) versions of Topical Report (TR) NEDE-33885-P, Revision 0, Control Rod Drop Accident Application Methodology, to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff. GNF-A has done so in accordance with our request to publish an approved version of this TR, as detailed in the transmittal letter of the NRC staffs final safety evaluation (SE) (ADAMS Accession No. ML20023A285) pertaining to the submittal of Licensing TR NEDE-33885P, Revision 0, dated February 28, 2018 (Accession No. ML18059A874). It is understood that the -A version of NEDE-33885P, Revision 0, is designated as NEDE-33885P-A, Revision 1.

The NRC staff has completed its review of the approval version of the TR. The NRC staff verified that GNF-A has met the requirements and determined that the submitted -A is acceptable for referencing in licensing applications for nuclear power plants to the extent specified and under the limitations delineated in the TR. TR NEDE-33885P-A, Revision 1, Control Rod Drop Accident Application Methodology, is now approved for use in future licensing actions as specified in the final SE.

Please contact Ngola Otto at (301) 415-6695, if you have any questions on this subject.

Sincerely,

/RA/
