Cn 1/23/79, the SGTS fire syster. was blocked to perform surveillwce tests on snake detestors. A permit was issued for this work. Due to

g p oblems involved with the surveillance testing, the job could not be

that the mala valve was closed when he arrived in the area. This vala k

Fcr these reasons, the safety significance of this event is minimal.
CorrectiveJtetion:
The r2re system was placed back in service insediately upos discovery of this event..
The persarc 4'irectly involved hith the error is un-blocking the original permit was instructed in the proper method to be used when i:learing permits to assure that the system is properly returned to s.orvice.
Further corrective action vill be taken when the investigation of this event is completed.
