anywhere.

When it comes to a "fear factor" created by the unknown, the three most prominent issues have to do with a virus pandemic, chemical pollution, and nuclear radiation. Of the three, nuclear radiation is the safest to manage and control. There are only two places that radiation levels can exceed the normal background levels:

nuclear weapons or nuclear power plants. Through very strict regulations, both are monitored very carefully to maintain a safe environment around them and very few death caused by radiation.

However, predatory viruses are not easily predetermined and preventable. Every few years the transmutation of previous viruses prey on the human race and causes epidemics and pandemics until the scientist can catch up with a vaccine. During that delay time, the contagious nature of the virus will kill hundreds of thousands of people.

Chemical pollution is 100% man-made and could and should be safely regulated and controlled.

Unfortunately, mankind is just not concerned about the health of the environment and well being of the people, as it should be, because of the all mighty profit. Millions of people die early every year from the various types of chemical pollution in the land, sea, and air.

The primary difference between the occurrence of viruses, chemicals, and radiation is the death rate.

Radiation exposure has the least and almost non-existence occurrence of deaths. This is because of strict regulations and the fact that radiation is not contagious, not in the usual sense that one can "catch" certain diseases by being exposed.

The infrastructure of the nuclear industry is the safest in the world. It wasn't always that way seventy years ago. That is where so much legacy information is coming from in discussions with today's disinformation about the safety of radiation. Today's nuclear power plants are designed and built around "safe" as the first priority. This also includes the management of stored and transported nuclear fuel. There has never been a death directly associated with nuclear power or nuclear fuel management in the US.

I have ten years of experience with studying nuclear science and technology and have 100% confidence in the safe execution of the HI-STORE CISF program proposed for Lea and Eddy Counties in New Mexico.
