POSITION DESCRIPTION SHIFT ADVISOR REPORTS TO:
Shift Engineer SUPERVISES:
None FUNCTIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:
Shift Control Room Engineer, Auxiliary Service Foreman, Maintenance Foreman, I.M. Foreman, Electrical Foreman, Tech Staff Engineers, Rad Chem Foreman, Stationmen Foreman.
BASIC FUNCTIONS:
Assist the Shift Engineer with his duties and is responsible for all duties assigned to him by the Shif t Engineer, provide advice and recommendations on plant operations to the Shift Engineer.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.
Maintain in-depth knowledge of plant and equipment status by reviewing:
a.
S. E. Shift Turnover Forms b.
Control Room and S. E. Log c.
Main Control Board Lineups 2.
Review, assess, observe and/or assist in significant plant evolutions as directed by the Shift Engineer, including startup procedures.
3.
Assist in resolving Tech Spec related problems.
4.
Participate in shift turnover and shif t briefings.
5.
Monitor procedures in use by the shift.
6.
Assist in other tasks as assigned by the Shif t Engineer.
7.
The Shif t Advisor does not have the autority to order plant shutdown.
PRINCIPAL WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:
1.
Shift Engineer - provide advice on plant evolutions.
2.
Shift Control Room Engineer - assists in coordination of plant evolutions.
3.
Auxiliary Services Foreman - helps coordinate primary and secondary plant evolutions.
4.
Tech Staff Engineers - assists / advises in resolution of plant generic operating problems.
