By igy letter of August 3,1984 (File X7T02.6, Log: GN-400), Georgia Power Company provided consultants reports and Cultural Resource Management Plans (CRM) delineating historical and archaeological properties along certain transmission line rights-of-way associated with the Vogtle project. As noted in that letter, additional reports and CRM plans were being developed and

Attached are the Consultant's report, CRM Plan, and submittal letter to the Georgia State Historic Preservation Officer for the Wadley/Wallace Dam

~ portion of the Vogtle/Scherer transmission line. Documentation for the Vogtle/Wadley portion was submitted with iny letter of August 3,1984. This 1.nformation is being provided with the anderstanding that it will'not be subject to public disclosure. Withholding this information from public

' disclosure is necessary to protect these resources and insure their preservation. The basis for witholding from public disclosure were stated in sqy letter of August 3,1984.

Dear Dr. Lyon:

_r: nGeorgia Power Company is conducting cultural resource management planning actions for a transmission line under construction between the Vogtle Electric Generating Plant (VEGP-Burke County, Georgia) and the R. W. Scherer Electric Generating Plant (Scherer-Monroe County, Georgia). Garrow and Associates, Inc., has completed a resource inventory and assessment study for a 56.4 mile section of that line, known as the Wadley to Wallace Dam Section. A copy of their final report is enclosed.

Garrow and_ Associates has identified one cultural property listed on the National Register of Historic Places and twenty-five (25) which they recommend as eligible for listing therein.

Thus, a total of twenty-six (26) properties are recommended for management consideration by Georgia Power Company.

Georgia Power Company has assessed resource treatment alter-natives for the twenty-six (26) properties. A c3py of a tentative resource treatment plan for those properties is also enclosed.

This plan discusses resource management planning activities to date and sets out Georgia Power Company's intentions with regard to the management of those properties.
