Final Exercise Evaluation Report for the Cooper Nuclear Station Offsite Radiological Emergency Preparedness Exercise Conducted May 15-16, 1984 This transmits the Final Exercise Evaluation Report for the joint radiological emergency preparedness exercise conducted May 15 and 16, 1984, for the Cooper Nuclear Station. This exercise involved appropriate full participation by all jurisdictions within the plume and ingestion exposure pathway emergency planning zones including the States of Missouri, Nebraska, and Iowa, and the Counties of Atchison, M0, Nodaway, M0, Nemaha, NE, and Richardson, NE. The report, dated July 18, 1984, was prepared by Region VII staff of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).
Although there were Category B deficiencies observed during the exercise, they did not detract from the overall demonstrated capability that, in the event of an actual emergency, measures can be taken to protect the public health and safety. A schedule of corrective actions has been requested from the States and will be forwarded to you upon receipt.
Since there were no identified impediments to protecting the public health and safety demonstrated during this exercise, the radiological emergency plan approval pursuant to 44 CFR 350 will remain in effect.
