Dear Mr. Youngblood:
In February of 1983, we were made aware that F.E.M.A. and the R.A.C. were formerly reviewing the unsigned, unapproved R.E.R.P.
plan for Monroe County.
Immediately upon reading this in the federal registry, we requested a meeting of F.E.M.A.
Region V Director which was scheduled to be held March 1, 1983 in Battle Creek, Michigan.
At the meeting of March 1st which was chaired by Mr. Frank Finch of F.E.M.A.
Region V, I represented Monroe County officially to protest the formal review of the unsigned, unapproved plan.
Monroe County officials left the meeting under the impression that there would be no further action taken until Monroe County approved and signed the document.
We now have a revised unsigned, unapproved plan.
At the present time, we are working toward presenting the revised plan to the Board of Commissioners for approval.
Upon their approval, signatures would be attached and a letter from the Chairman of the Board of Commissioners to Michigan State Police, Emergency Management Division, requesting a formal review of the plan will take place.
