Waterford 3 SES Docket No. 50-382 License No. NPF-38 Withdrawal of Techni'al Specification Bases Change Request Gentlemen:
The purpose of this letter is to withdraw a Technical Specification Bases Change Request, originally submitted per Louisiana Power and Light (LP&L) letter no.
-W3P88.1810, dated October 6,1988. In that letter, LP&L requested an update to Waterford 3 Technical Specification Bases 3/4.3.1 and 3/4.3.2 concerning main feedwater isolation valve (MFIV) response tests. On April 17,1990, LP&L furnished additional information to the NRC in letter no. W3P90-0222. The latter correspondence discussed the adjustment to the MFIV closure times and explained that the bases change was requested for clarification of ti.e relationship between full flow and zero flow closure times, with respect to technical specification requirements.
Entergy Operations, Inc. is currently in the process of reevaluating vendor supplied information furnished in support of the previously submitted bases
-change. As such, Entergy will withdraw the previously submitted bases change.
Following completion of the reevaluation, Waterford 3 will submit a separate bases change or a technical specification revision, if deemed appropriate.
