Dear Mr. Schwencer:
This letter' confirms cmmitments riade during the reference telecon.
PECO will provide an augmented inservice inspection program for the Limerick Unit 1 outboard feedwater check valves (1F074A and 1F074B valves).
This inspection program will be inplemented at the first refueling outage.
It will include a visual examination of the entire
. surface of the valve bodies, both internal and external.
The inspection program will, after appropriate surface preparation, be of sufficient sensitivity to detect a minimum crack length of 335 inches.
'Ihis is equivalent to the conservative crack size assumed in the fracture mechanics analysis provided via the reference 2 letter.
Inspections subsequent to the first refueling outage will be in accordance with the Unit 1 ISI program.
The augmented inspection program will be fu*Jier described in the ISI program for Limerick Unit 1.
The ISI program will be submitted for NRC evaluation 6 months after camercial operation as required by SER confirmatory issue 12.
We trust ' this information is sufficient to close confirmatory issue no. 22.
