Nuclear Regulatory Commission dated July 5, 1990, " Fitness For Duty Testing".
Gentlemen:
In the referenced letter, the Nebraska Public Power District (District) notified the Nuclear Regulatory Commission that the District's Fitness-For-Duty program would include three additional drugs not listed in the minimum panel of drugs described in 10 CFR 26, Appendix A.
These drugs were Barbiturates, Benzodiazepine, and Propoxyphene.
The District herewith notifies the Nuclear Regulatory Commission that these additional drugs will no longer be included in our drug screening program as of February 1, 1996.
During the five years of testing for these additional drugs, only two positives for Barbiturates occurred and both were during pre-access testing.
Based on these results, continued testing for these additional drugs is not justifiable.
