Dear Mr. Eisenhut:
River Bend Station Unit 1 Docket No. 50-458 On August 30, 1984 the Nuclear Licensing Department of the Gulf States Utilities (GSU) Company came into possession of a copy of Generic Letter 84-11 (Inspections of BWR Stainless Steel Piping). This copy was handed to a GSU eniployee attending (a May 1,1984 meeting in Bethesda,:
Maryland concerning the submittal of the River Bend PSI Plan. No formal transmittal has been_ received to date. However, the letter requires a l-written response within 45 days of April 19, 1984.
Since it is not.
possible to meet this deadline'given the date GSU Licensing became aware of the letter we request that our response due date be extended to October. 15, 1984 which is 45; days from the date the copy was obtained by GSU. Licensing.
