-4. 0 ASSISTANT CONTROL OPERATOR (ACO)

'The ACO ~ has the f ollowing duti es :

'A.- Monitor and control of reactor, reactor auxiliaries ,

turbine and turbine auxiliaries.

B. Direct operations of floormen in support of unit uniaue ac tivi ties .

C. Log all pertinent activities associated with monitoring j and controlling unit operation.

D.  : Assist in performing surveillance tests on eculpment in conjunction with lab techs, test engineers and HP technicians.

E. Monitor plant parameters to ensure compliance with technical specifications.

l L 5. 0 SHIFT TECHNICAL ADVISOR The Shif t Technical Advisor has the. following duties during .

normal operation:

A. Read and review the logs to ensure operational problems are corrected, or corrective action ordered (MRF'd ) and properly closed out.

B. Survey systems which are governed by the Technical i Specifications to ensure Operability Recuirement are -

met.

C. Survey systems which are not governed by the Technical r Specifications for proper operation.

r D' Survey system for performance in accordance with design.

l E Following transients, review system design and i performance for proper operation under upset conditions,

! and suggest modifications as appropriate.

F. Following transients, review applicable procedures for compl eteness and suggest revi si ons , if desirable.

G. Maintain knowledge of nodifications to plant eauipment and help instruct shif t personnel in this area.- -

H. During re f ueling or maintenance outages , review outage unit condi tions to ensure compliance with Tech. Spec's.

I. Obtain information, read and instruct shift personnel regarding significant operating problems that have occurred at PBAPS and other sites.

J. Advise SS/SSV of any problem areas identified.

K. Maintain a log of the activities performed and problem areas ide nti fi ed . Sign log at the end of his shift.

Turn over of job responsibility occurs af ter his relief initials your log.

The STA has the following duties during transient or accident condi ti ons :

A. Report to the Control Room and observe plant i nstrumentati on . Make a detemination that the transient is proceeding in accordance with plant design and that the signi ficant parameters are within acceptable limits for that transient.

B. Observe operation of applicable EOCS and availability of ECCS components which were not activated by the transient.

C. Observe other control room instrumentation not necessarily directly associated with the transient.

Make a determination that these values are within normal limits.

D. Report any adverse findings to the Shif t Superintendent, Shift Supervisor or Control Room Operators.

E. Continue to observe plant instrumentation and computer out-put until the plant is in a stable condition. ,

Af ter a stabl e condition -has been achieved , aid shift personnel in analysis of the transient to determine cause and Tech Spec implicatior. Report transients and plant condition to individual s speci fied by Shif t Superintendent and serve as a liaison between Technical support personnel (in Technical Support Center) and ,

Chift Supervision.

G. Observe the overall progress of the plant throughout the event. Do Not become involved in detains to the degree that the overall picture is lost.

H. Investigate and write upset reports for plant upsetF which occur on his shift. He shall make up at least a preliminary report of the upset and discuss it (via -

phone if necessary) with plant management prior to leaving the site.

I. Investigate and write LERs and unusual events (as defined in Tech Spec) which occur on his shif t. He y shall make a preliminary report of the LER or Unusual

/ Event prior to leaving the site.

He shall discuss (by phone if necessary) the preliminary report with plant management prior to leaving the site.

The order is same as S above.
