On April 14, 1992, with Lash 11e Unit 1 in mode 1 (RLrN),.the IB Diesel Generator.
tripped on reverse Power when the output breaker (ACB~1433) was opened. The cause of this event was attributed to the performance of a Nuclear Station Operator (WSO) trainee who was operating the ID DG.
An attempt was made to open the output breaker with 1000Kvars and 200Kwatte of load still being a
supplied by the IB D,G.
E en the output breaker opened the IB DG exper16. iced-large swings.in voltage which in turn tripped the engine on reverse power.
The IB DG was started end loadod again per LaSalle Operating Surveillance-Diesel Generator-Monthly 3 (LOS-DG-M3).
When offlooded this time the vars and watts were. lowered to 200Kvars and 200Kwatts before the output breaker was opened successfully. A revialon will be initiated for LOP-DO-03, 06, 09 " Shutdown of all Diesel Generators" to lower Kvara before opening the output breaker. Action Item Record #373-251-92-00065 will track the completion of this revision.
