Dear Mrs. Ellis:
Enclosed is documentation regarding the A500 steel issue.
'This material responds to CASE's remaining discovery requests on this topic, as set forth in your letter of August 13, 1984.
These documents are provided in four categories, which I have labeled Items 1 through 4 as follows:
Item No.
Description 1
List of 20 large bore supports with greatest interaction values.
2 Drawings and applicable stress calculations for 20 supports listed in Item 1.
3 Drawings and calculations for supports (three) in Applicants' sample of A500 tube steel sup-ports with intermediate Richmond Inserts which are not already provided in Items 1 and 2.
4 Lists of all large bore supports from PSE, ITT and NPSI from Applicants' sample, with revised I
interaction values.
The list in Item I was drawn from this list.

CASE should note that-the revised interaction values (which include consideration of revised allowables) for each of these supports are not part of the design calculations.
Generation of these revised values involves the ratioing of the interaction values from the design calculations with the revised allowables.
Many of these sample ratio calculations were not retained when initially performed.-.Thus, we have provided documentation to demonstrate the manner in which those calculations were per-formed.
Finally, CASE should also note that for the three addi-tional supports with intermediate inserts, none of the intermediate insert locations themselves were the point of highest stress for the individual supports.
We believe these documents complete our response regarding the A500 steel issue.
Please let me know promptly if your re-cords reflect otherwise.
Sincerely, William A.
