On December 28, 1989, Alabama Power Company submitted a certification to the NRC that the fitness-for-duty program had been im)lemented which meets the requirements of 10 CFR Part 26.
In addition to tais certification, Alabama Power Company informed the NRC that two additional substances not required by the rule were included in the panel of drugs for screening:
benzodiazepines and barbiturates. The pur>ose of this letter is to inform the NRC that, effective June 1,1992, Soutiern Nuclear Operating Corepany (the current licensee) will no longer screen for the additional substances of benzcdiazepines and barbiturates.
Compliance with 10 CFR Part 26 is not affected as a result of this change.
