Larson dated September 17,1970 In Reference (1), Comed submitted proposed alternative testing requirements from the requirements of the 1989 Edition of ASME Section XI, subarticle IWA-5250(a)(2) for bolted connections. Relief Request CR 16, provided in that referenced letter, described the alternative testing requirements.
j The purpose of this letter is to provide clarification regarding the referenced relief request. Quad Cities Station utilizes the guidance of GE Services Information Letter (SIL) 483 for performing maintenance on control rod drives (CRD). In addition, Quad Cities utilizes similar guidance regarding CRD flange leakage requirements as described in Reference (2).
To the best of my knowledge and belief, the information contained herein is true and correct. In some respect, this information is not based on my personal knowledge, but on information furnished by other Comed employoes, contractor employees, and/or consultants. Such information has been reviewed in accordance with company practice, and I believe it to be reliable.
