Dear Judge Smith:

I'm sorry that the content of 1,..is communique will be so impersonal I will write again when I have a bit more time. Small newspapers are an around-the-clock job.

Primarily, I wish to express my concern with respect to the hearings that are currently underway at the federal building, in

'tockford, IL.

Please attend to the. following and rive this matter your fullest attention.

Thank you very much.

Eyron isn' t built right.

The NRC was far from candid with their estimation of the plant's problems.

Ask for a review of NRC outstanding items. Mfg / j u o.Ats-,ew?

The Board should listen to the concerns of workers from the plant who wish to testify.

Any employee who is brave enough to volunteer information should have a fair hearing, especially if the adequacy of the NRC investigation is called into question.

There is a real financial problem with Com-Ed.

A 107 rate in-crease hinges on the outcome of the hearings.

The judges should be made aware of the many rate hikes (five within the last sev-en years) that Com Ed has recQed, and that the Byron plant, though not needed, is being put on line for the convenience of j

the utility.
