Gentlemen:
This correspondence is to update you on Nebraska Public Power District's (District) commitment for an improved Standard Technical Specifications conversion assessment for the Cooper Nuclear Station (CNS).
The assessment has been completed and the District has elected to convert the existing CNS custom technical specifications to the improved Standard Technical Specifications for General Electric BWR/4 Plants (NUREG 1433). The conversion project was approved by the District's Board of Directors at its September meeting. The current project schedule is for submittal in December 1996 and implementation in September 1997.
