Gentlemen:
Millstone Nuclear Power Station, Unit No. 3 Response to Chemical Engineering Branch SER Confirmatory item In Reference (1) Northeast Nuclear Energy Company (NNECO) was requested to provide additional information.concerning several criteria in Item ILB.3 of NUREG-0737 which addresses the Post Accident Sampling System (PASS). This information was submitted in Reference 2 where NNECO stated that the plant-specific procedure estimating core damage would be available by September 1, 1984. Reference (3) identified the submittal of this plant-specific procedure as a confirmatory item.
Attached is NNECO's plant-specific procedure for estimating core damage at Millstone Unit 3 as required by criterion 2 in Item ILB.3 of NUREG-0737. We expect that this submittal will resolve the Staff's concern regarding this confirmatory item.
