Dear Sirs e -

. ;.,,. g g4 Since I was unable to speak at the public hearing in Riverhead, NY, on the diesel generator situation for the Shoreham Nuclear Power Station, I am writing to put my views and those of my organization into the record.

Our position is that the Shoreham plant is adequately safe, and that it should be put on line as quickly as possible.

We deplore the stand taken by Suffolk County opposing the opening of the plant.

We urge the Board of which you are the chairman to rule on the emergency generators on the basis of technical considerations alone...and not to yield to public hysteria er political pressure to deny-a-low-power license without technical reason for doing so.

Sincerely yours, W4 Thonac W. Morris
