Dear Mr. Ebneter:
Enclosed is_a copy of the final _ exercise report for the January 11, 1995, partial-participation plume exposure pathway exercise of the offsite radiological emergency response plans site-specific to the Vogtle Electric Generating Plant.
This report addresses the evaluation of the plans and preparedness for the States of Georgia and South Carolina appropriate jurisdictions within the 10-mile Emergency Planning Zone. The final exercise report was prepared by the, Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Region IV staff.
Copies of this report will be forwarded to the States of Georgia and South Carolina and FEMA Headquarters by my staff.
All objectives of the exercise were demonstrated.
No deficiencies were identified.
However, three Areas Requiring CorrectiTe Action (ARCA), and several Areas Recommended for Improvement (ARCI) were identified during the exercise.
Based on the results of the January 11, 1995 exercise, the offsite radiological emergency response plans and preparedness for the States of Georgia and South Carolina and the affected local jurisdictions site-specific to the Vogtle Electric Generating Plant can be implemented and are adequate to provide reasonable assurance that appropriate measures can be taken offsite to protect the health and safety of the public in the event of a radiological emergency at the site.
The Title 44 CFR, Part 350, approval of the States of Georgia and South Carolina offsite radiological emergency response plans and preparedness site-specific to Vogtle Electric Generating Plant granted on September 6,
1987, will remain in effect.
