SUMMARY
OF OPERATING EXPERIENCES Limerick Unit 1 began the month of March at 100% of rated thermal power. On Monday, March 2, reactor power was briefly reduced to 95% to facilitate a control rod pattern adjustment.
On Monday, March 9,-power began to decrease from 100% due to fuel depletion. On Friday, March 13, reactor power was reduced from 98.4% to 95% to allow the sixth feedwater heaters to be removed from service. Reactor power was restored to 100% of rated thermal power with reduced feedwater heating the same day. On Friday, March 20 at 0825 hours0.00955 days <br />0.229 hours <br />0.00136 weeks <br />3.139125e-4 months <br /> power reduction began for entry into the the Unit 1 fourth refueling outage.
At 1410 hours0.0163 days <br />0.392 hours <br />0.00233 weeks <br />5.36505e-4 months <br /> on March 20 the reactor mode switch was placed in the Shutdown' position and the unit scrammed from 20% of rated thermal power. At 0845 hours0.00978 days <br />0.235 hours <br />0.0014 weeks <br />3.215225e-4 months <br /> on March 21 the unit entered OPCON 4 (Cold Shutdown) when reactor water coolant temperature was reduced to less than 200 degrees Farhenheit.
OPCON 5 (Refueling) was entered at 1500 hours0.0174 days <br />0.417 hours <br />0.00248 weeks <br />5.7075e-4 months <br /> on March 24 when the reactor vessel head detensioning commenced. On March 25
! OPCON 5* (Refueling activities with the potential for draining the reactor vessel) was entered following the establishing of Refuel Floor Secondary Containment.
