Mr. Dennis M. Crutchfield Division ofReactor Program Management Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Washington, D.C. 20555

Dear. Mr. Crutchfield:

Enclosed is a copy of the final, exercise report for the August 15 and 16,1995, ingestion patliway exercise of the offsite radiological emergency response plans site-specific to the Wolf Creek Generating Station. The State of Kansas and Coffey County fully participated in the exercise. This report was prepared by the Federal Emergency ManaBement Agency (FEMA)

Region VII staff. A copy of the final report will be provided to the State of Kansas by FEMA Region VII staff.

There were no Deficiencies identified during this exercise. There were; however, fourteen Areas Requiring Corrective Action. FEMA Region VII staff will monitor the status of the corrective actions.

Based on the resuhs of the August 15 and 16,1995, exercise, the offsite radiological emergency response plans and preparedness for the State of Kansas and the affected local jurisdictions, site-specific to the Wolf Creek Generating Station, can be implemented and are adequate to provide reasonable assurance that appropriate measures can be taken offsite to protect the health and safety of the public in the event of a radiological emergency at the site.

Therefore, the Title 44 CFR, Part 350, approval of the offsite radiological emergency response plans and preparedness for the State of Kansas site-specific to the Wolf Creek Generating Station, granted on November 7,1984, will remain in effect.
