SPECTRUM TECIINOLOGIES March 12, 1992 Mr. Leif J. Norriholm Chief of Vendor Inspection Branch United States Nuclear Regulatory Commission Washington, DC 20555 Attn:

Mr. Joseph J.

Petrosino (Mail Drop 9D4)

Subject:

INFORMATION REGARDING AGASTAT RELAYS DELIVERED TO VIRGINIA ELECTRIC AND POWER COMPANY IN 1988

Dear Joe:

On March 6,

1992 I faxed to you, Virginia Electric and Power Compai.y Nonconformance Report for the Surry Power Station NCR #88-102.

As I indicated in the fax, the copy was poor, so I provided a typed translation as best I could decipher the contents of my copy.

s Per our subsequent telecon, attached please find a hard copy of the NCR that was forwarded to me via mail, you should find it easier to read.

As indicated in the attached, the relays were dispositioned by being retagged to indicate that their use was limited to "Non-Safety Related a)plications".

The Non-Safety Related end use of these relays renders traceability to the OEM unnecessary.

However, we are anticipating receipt of the traceability documentation from

' Amerace to Control Components Supply Corporation for those items.

When I receive this information I'll give you a call.

Very truly yours, llam R. W llis Manager of Quality Assurance
