Docket No. 50-482: Clarification of Relief Request I2R-15 Gentlemen: This letter clarifies Relief Request I2R-15 which was submitted as part of the Inservice Inspection Program. The Reference submitted the Inservice Inspection Program for-the second ten year interval. Relief Request ~ I2R-15 concerns a request for relief from the requirements of ASME Section XI, IWF-5000 for the visual examination of snubbers. The justification provided in the relief request stated that the requirements of ASME Section XI. IWF-5000 were redundant to the requirements of the snubber inspection program reqtired by the Wolf Creek Generating Station Technical Specification. However, License Amendment No. 89, which was issued on October 2,
- 1995, relocated the technical specification requirements for a snubber inspection program to_ the Updated Safety Analysis Report.
The relocated snubber inspection program continues to require the visual examinations of safety-related snubbers as discussed in the relief request. Any potential changes made to the snubber inspection program will be made in accordance with the requirements of 10 CFR 50.59.
