Gentlemen:
In accordance with the Director's Final Findings and Orders, the following is a report of the monitoring and toxicity data obtained during the Perry Nuclear Power Plant's H-130 treatment, conducted on October 4, 1995.
Grab samples of the effluent were collected every two hours during the treatment from a point downstream of the detoxification site. Sample analysis demonstrated that the concentration of active H-130 discharged into Lake Erie was maintained at <0.04 mg/1.
A composite sample of the effluent was collected during the H-130 treatment and used to conduct acute toxicity tests. Control samples were collected at both the intake and discharge prior to treatment. Results of these tests indicate that the effluent was not toxic to the study organisms. Test results are compiled and attached.
The use of CL-37 to reduce foam was not required.
