UNION OF CONCERNED SCIENTISTS' MOTION FOR EXTENSION OF TIME TO REPLY TO LICENSEE'S MOTION TO EXCLUDE UCS FROM PARTICIPATION On July 31, 1984, Licensee moved to exclude the Union of Concerned Scientists from participation in certain aspects of the remand on management issues.

Under the Commission's rules, UCS' reply would normally be due to be filed on August 15, 1984.

UCS moves that the deadline for its response be extended to August 17, 1984.

This extension is necessary because Ms. Weiss, who is lead counsel for UCS, and who is thoroughly familiar with the relevant issues and arguments, was on vacation when the motion was received and will be on vacation until Monday, August 13, 1984.

In addition, the Commission has now scheduled oral argument on TMI-l restart for August 15, further compressing the time available to respond to this motion.
