Offsite Dose Calculation Manual Revisiop_LO 3 Gentlemen:

By letter dated August 12, 1991, the NRC provided the results of their review of the Farley Nuclear Plant Offsite Dose Calculation Manual (0DCM),

Revision 10. In this letter a deficiency was identified concerning the calculation of organ dose rates due to gaseous effluents. The NRC requested that this deficiency be addressed in a future revision to the ODCM within six months of receipt of their letter. Although the concern raised by the NRC is currently addressed in the technical specifications and plant implementing procedures, Southern Nuclear Operating Company agrees that these provisions should be incorporated into the ODCM.

A comprehensive revision to the ODCM is currently being prepared in support of a request for deletion of the Radiological Ef fluents Technical Specifications (RETS) per Generic Letter 89-01. In order to prevent duplication of efforts, Southern Nuclear Operating Company will address the one remaining deficiency in the revision which will accompany the RETS deletion submittal. This approach was discussed with the NRC Project Manager on January 28, 1992.
