ENCLOSURE NRC REQUEST FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION TVA-SQN-TS-57 SEQUOYAH NUCLEAR PLANT NRC Question Please verify that the capacity of the fifth vital battery is equal to that presently installed.

TVA Response The 125v de fifth vital battery's two-hour discharge rate (to 1.81v de per cell) at 600F is 663 amps.

NRC Question Is the cable separation criteria being used for the fifth vital battery the same as that used for the present design.

TVA Response The 125v de fifth vital battery system will meet the separation requirements (electrical and physical) ideatified in Section 8.31.4 of the SQN FSAR.

NRC Question Please clarify what is meant by Class 1L.

TVA Response A definition of Class 1L is provided in Section 3.2.2.6 of the SQN FSAR.
