Beaver Valley Power Station, Unit No.1 Docket No. 50-334, License No. DPR-66 ASME Section XI Code Case N-401 Gentlemen:
Pursuant to 10 CFR 50.55a(a)(2)(ii), it is our intention to use the alternative method for collection and storege ~ of eddy current test data described in ASME Section XI Code Case N-401 " Eddy Current Examination" during the examination of Steam Generator heat exchanger tubing scheduled to begin on October 22, 1984.
Code Case N-401 allows for digitized collection and storage of eddy current test data, when demonstrated to the Authorized Nuclear Inservice Inspector to be used as an alternative to magnetic tape and strip chart recording of eddy current test data required by ASME Section XI, Division 1, Appendix IV.
