. This special report is submitted in accordance with LaSalle Unit 2 Operating License NPF-18, Appendix A, and Technical Specifications 3.7.6 and 6.6.c.

I f Technical Specification 3.7.6 requires that all fire rated assemblies and all sealing i

On September 21,1995, at 1120 hours0.013 days
0.311 hours
0.00185 weeks
4.2616e-4 months
, Fire Door 615 was inoperable for a period
greater than seven days. Door 615 was opened on September 14,1995, at 1120 i hours to allow accaan to Reactor Recirculation System Panel 2H13-P634 which is located in Fire Subzone 4E2-2. Troubleshooting was being performed from Panel 2H13-P634 in an attempt to determine the cause of valve oscillations on Reactor 4

Recirculation Flow Control Valves 2B33-F060A and 2833-F0608. Because Door 615 is located in close proximity to Panel 2H13-P634, it was necessary to open Door 615 so test equipment could be placed near the panel. Fire Door 615 is located in the wall which separates Fire Subzones 4E2-1 and 4E2-2 in the Unit 2 Aux!!!ary Building on elevation 731'. An Houriy Fire Watch was established in accordance with the Action Statement of Technical Specification 3.7.6 to inspect the affected areas while the door was inoperable. This compensatory measure along with the operable fire detection existing on both sides of the door and the Fire Prevention Administrative Program ensured the level of fire protection was not reduced during this event.
