U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission 779 Roosevelt Road Glen Ellyn, Illinois 60137 This special report is being submitted in accordance with Technical Specification 3.7.'s.a and the C. W. Schroeder to J. G. Keppler letter dated February 9,1984 regarding the LaSalle Unit 2 Dryvell tempera-ture.
On September 1,1984, at about 0900 hours0.0104 days <br />0.25 hours <br />0.00149 weeks <br />3.4245e-4 months <br />, one of the temporary thermocouples near some of the safety related safety relief valves started indicating a temperature above the Technical Specification temperature limit of 150 degrees F.
The temperature rose to a maxi-mum of 160 degrees F.
This condition existed until September 6, 1984, at about 0500 hours0.00579 days <br />0.139 hours <br />8.267196e-4 weeks <br />1.9025e-4 months <br /> when the temperature dropped below 150 degrees F after a planned scram.
During the outage, changes were made to the ventilation system to insure that the temperature would remain below the Technical Speci-fication limit.
The analysis by Sargent and Lundy (documented by the letter from F. Juson to G. Crane dated September 19, 1984) for the 2B21-F013A, C, E, G, H, L, N, R and U SRV solenoids qualified life, indicated that as of September 18, 1984, the above named solenoids have e NUREG 0588 Category I remaining life of 1.13 years at the tempera-ture that the solenoids vill experience with the unit operating at full power if no additional ventilation changes occur.
