SUBJECT:
PSC Response to Generic Letter 83-28
REFERENCE:
PSC Letter, Lee to Eisenhut, dated 11/4/83(P-83359)
Dear Mr. Collins:
In the above referenced letter, Public Service Company of Colorado (PSC) indicated that if the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) approved the Institute of Nuclear Power Operations sponsored Nuclear Utility Task Action Committee (NUTAC) position regarding Section 2.2.2 of Generic Letter 83-28 (vendor interface), the results of the NUTAC would be implemented, as applicable, at Fort St. Vrain.
PSC is currently preparing to implement many of the recommendations resulting from the NUTAC, but being unsure of the NRC final position with respect to the vendor interface issue, we are reluctant to proceed further until we can establish that additional efforts are justified.
On this basis, we are requesting information as to the status of this issue within the NRC and the likelihood of the NUTAC's position being approved.
