Peach Bottom Atomic Power Station, Units 2 and 3 Limerick Generating Station, Units 1 and 2 Future Revisions to the Updated Final Safety Analysis Reports (UFSARs)

Dear Sirs:

In a letter dated September 28,1995, you responded to PECO Energy Company correspondence dated April 3,1995 concerning updating of UFSAR figures that were exact reproductions of PECO Energy controlled drawings. In your letter you stated that, as an option to identifying these figures as " Historical Information" with a note referencing the most current revision of the corresponding PECO Energy controlled drawing, PECO could substitute other plant drawings for the current drawings in the FSARs, as long as the substitutions were acceptable. An example given was that plant controlled drawings would be substituted for FSAR figures as long as the controlled drawings were incorporated in the FSAR by reference, were updated on the same frequency as the FSAR update and placed on the docket in a similar fashion as the FSAR amendment, and the staff agreed that the controlled drawings were acceptable replacements.

For future revisions of the Peach Bottom Atomic Power Station (PBAPS) Units 2 and 3, and Limerick Generating Station (LGS), Units 1 and 2, UFSARs we Intend to use the PECO Energy Controlled Drawings without the UFSAR figure title block / border for all figures requiring revision. As stated in our previous letter dated April 3,1995, these UFSAR figures are exact reproductions of PECO Energy controlled drawings with a UFSAR figure title block / border added; the information contained is exactly the same on both drawings.

O The PECO Energy Controlled Drawings were originally submitted with the FSARs during the Initial licensing of the plants and these original drawings were recreated with UFSAR borders and issued in subsequent updates of the UFSARs.

By submitting the PECO Energy controlled drawings without the UFSAR figure title block / border, PECO Energy can save between $80,000 to $100,000 annually with the revisions to the PBAPS and f LGS UFSARs. Therefore, we intend to submit all future revisions of the PBAPS and LGS UFSARs using the appropriate PECO Energy controlled drawings and these drawings will be cross ,

referenced to the UFSAR f;gures that they replace.
