SUMMARY
OF OPERATING EXPERIENCES Highlights Vermont Yankee operated at 46% of rated thermal power for the month. Gross electrical generation was 177410 MWH or 46% of design electrical capacity. Operating Summary The following is a chronological description of plant operations including other pertinent items of interest for the month: At the start of the reporting period the plant was operating at 96% of rated thermal power. 840603 At 0030 hours a power reduction was initiated for control rod exercising and surveillance testing. 840603 At 0417 hours a return to full power was started. 840615 At 1610 hours a manual shutdown was initiated for the annual refueling outage. 840615 At 2149 hours the generator was disconnected from the grid. 840615 At 2344 hours the reactor was sub-critical. At the end of the reporting period the plant was si..itdown and the refueling outage was in progress.
