' The Licensee initiated the preplanned. alternate method of monitoring the parameter in accordance with Action

- Statement 30 -of Technical Specification Table - 3.3-6 i " Radiation Monitoring Instrumentation."

The cause of the. spurious alarms'was dirty pre-amplifier card contacts.. The contacts were cleaned, the applicable post-maintenance surveillance test was performed, and the unit was declared operable on September 12, 1984.
