In accordance with 10 CFR Part 50.90, we are enclosing 40 copies of a requested amendment to the operating license DPR-79, to change the Sequoyah Nuclear Plant unit 2 technical specifications (T/S). The proposed changes are provided in Enclosure 1. The proposed change will allow for temporary ECCS operability with one centrifugal charging pump inoperable beyond the 72-hour time restraint as identified in T/S 3 5.2 and 3.1.2.4. The r justification for the change is provided in Enclosure 2. Supplemental ,

information is being developed and will be submitted immediately upon ,

completion. This change is being myiewed concurrently by TVA's Nuclear Safety Review Board.

Enclosed is a check for the 5150 amendment fee required by 10 CFR 170.12.

The amendment fee is being wired to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, Attention: Licensing Fee Management Branch.
