Center. :It applies to Midland Units 1 and 2. This submittal reflects the
concepts discussed during our meeting of August 24, 1984 at your office. Your review'and concurrence is-requested.

.This QAPP supersedes Topical Report CPC-1A (Volume I), the Quality Assurance Program Procedures Manual.(Volume II), and the Quality Assurance related commitments in'the FSAR. Neither Volume I, Volume II nor the FSAR will be

updated during the Shutdown. Phase. These program documents were developed to meet,the-complex needs of the design and construction phase of the Midland Proj ect. .The Shutdown Phase QAPP represents an adaptation of the QA

. Program ~to meet the needs of the Shutdown Phase and to be responsive to the

! Project objectives stated in paragaraph 2.0 of the QAPP Introduction.

Full compliance with the Shutdown Phase QAPP will be achieved by January 1, 1985. The period between now and then provides for a transition from the LA existingprogram,towhichweIarenowworking,tocompliancewiththeShutdown Phase QAPP.--Specifically, this period will be used to prepare and put into effectlthe'necessary implementing procedures.
