Closcout of Generic Letter 89-10 Activities

- 2. L.O. DelGeorge (Comed) letter to US NRC, dated November 1,1993.
The Reference I and 2 letters transmitted LaSalle Station commitments to complete required actions associated with Generic Letter 89-10, " Safety-Related Motor-Operated Valve Testing and Surveillances". This letter notifies the NRC, per item m. of Generic Letter 89-10, that actions a. through h. are completed with exceptions noted below. This letter transmits LaSalle County Station's request for closure of Generic Letter 89-10.
There are 8 Motor Operated Valves (MOVs) on LaSalle Unit I that still require dynamic testing. The 8 MOVs,4 globe valves and 4 flex wedge gate valves, are ranked in the Low and Low Low safety significant categories of LaSalle's deterministic /PRA prioritization for the Generic Letter 89-10 MOV population. A margin evaluation of the diagnostic data from completed static tests has shown more than adequate margin is available. The methodology used considered the significant uncertainties commonly used to predict MOV reliability. The remaining tests are scheduled during the next refuel outage which begins 01/26/96.
