SUBJECT:

Wisconsin Schedule of Corrective Actions for Deficiencies Identified During the Prairie Island Nuclear Power Plant Offsite Radiological Emergency Preparedness Exercise Conducted on March 13, 1984 Attached is the schedule of corrective actions submitted by the State of Wisconsin for the deficiencies noted in the Final Report for the Prairie Island Nuclear Power Plant Offsite Radiological Emergency Preparedness Exercise conducted on March 13, 1984. The exercise report was sent to you on May 4, 1984.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Headquarters and Region V staff have reviewed the schedule of corrective actions submitted by the State.

Based on the proposed training session scheduled for July 19, 1984, to correct the deficiency affecting public hedith and safety and the State's corrective action schedule to correct other deficiencies, it appears the proposed actions when completed will satisfactorily correct the deficiencies noted for Pierce County, Wisconsin. The county has successfully demonstrated their capability to inform the public of protective actions in.hree previous exercises. However, a final decision cannot be provided until the remedial training scheduled by the State for July 19, has been observed and evaluated by FEMA Region V staff. We will advise ypu as soon as possible concerning the adequacy of the training session to correct the deficiency affecting public health and safety.

If you have any questions, please contact Mr. Robert S. Wilkerson, Chief, Technological Hazards Division at 287-0200.
