However, the
'E' classification refers to Class
'10' electrical equipment, which is safety related equipment. Mr.
Stanley then stated that it was his belief that the combination of the 'E' -designation and the
'4F' designation encompasses the scope of the new rule under 10 C.F.R. 5 50.49. Tr. 9571, 9572 (Stanley) 14 Page 3-9 of the Quadrex Component Classification Program Rules defines category
'F' and provides further discussion in sub-sections 3.6.1 through 3.6.4. which refers only to accident nonitoring equipment.
Mr. Thompson testified that the Quadrex Component Classification Program (CCP) Rules included 'important to safety' equipment under the
'F' designation, but was unable to provide a reference to any other information in the report that indic.ated that category
'F' related to anything other than accident monitcring equipment.
Tr. 9573, 9574. (Thompson) Tr. 9598, 9599 (Thompson)
There has been no conpliance with 10 C.F.R.
S 50.49 if the Applicant has failed to made a thorough study to determine what cquipment is_important to safety other than accident monitering oquipment. Section 9 of the Quadrex Component Classification Program (CCP) Rules. includes no discussion of equipment that is inportant to safety.- Tr. 9566 (Stanley). Mr. Stanley's reference to page 9-4 of the CCP Rules (9567) corresponds to the table provided for F
~
g comparison purposes on page 24 of Applicant's testimony. Tr. 9571 (Boyer) Although the testimony states that category
'4F' electrical aquipment is considered to correspond to 10 C.F.R. 8 50.49 (b)(2),
cross-examination revealed that this refars only to accident monitering
~
equipment. Tr. 9573, 9574 (Thompson)
