Dear Mr. Johnson:
Per your request in Reference (1) above we are submitting the following schedule.
1)
An evaluation of failure modes of a cracked fuel element under dynamic loading is underway.
This study is scheduled for completion in late July 1984.
Given our internal review requirements the completed study will be submitted to you.so later than August 18, 1984.
2)
An overall description of the fuel element inspection program will be prepared and submitted for your review and comments by the end of July.
Technical Specification revisions will be submitted in a timely fashion following resolution of any comments.
Most certainly revised Technical Specifications will be in place well in advance of our next refueling.
With reference to our present activities, we-are presently inspecting fuel elements in the FSV hot cell for the Cycle 3 PIE program.
