Dear Madam Chairwoman:
I am responding to your letter dated March 13, 2020, in which you expressed strong support for a public meeting on the proposed Indian Point Energy Center license transfer from Entergy Nuclear Operations, Inc. to Holtec Decommissioning International, LLC. Specifically, you requested that this meeting be held in Westchester County, N.Y., soon after the coronavirus restrictions on public gatherings are lifted.
In response to your request, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) intends to hold a public meeting on the license transfer review process once the large-scale gatherings are allowed. There will be an opportunity at the meeting for interested stakeholders to ask questions and provide comments to the NRC. The NRCs Office of Congressional Affairs will keep your staff updated on when a date and location is scheduled for the meeting.
