Draft Regulatory Guide DG-0008, " Applications for the use of Sealed Sources in Portable Gauging Devices" Gentlemen:
Cooper Nuclear Station has completed its review of the subject document and the following comments are offered for your information and use.
Appendix C, item 8, states, " Ensure that audit results and corrective actions are communicated to allpersonnel who use licensed material (regardless of their location or the license under which they nonnally work). "
This responsibility is vague and implies that the Radiation Safety Officer is responsible for all personnel who use license material regardless of whether these individuals are conducting activities associated with the Licensee's hiaterials License. It is recommended that Appendix C, item 8, be clarified to read: " Ensure that the audit results and corrective actions are communicated to all personnel conducting activities associated with the Licensee's hiaterials License."
Appendix I, page I-8, item D.(3) refers to "new" NRC Forms 4 and 5. It is recommended that the word "new" be deleted since the subheading for Section D already refers to the " revised" Part
- 20. Keeping the word "new" in D.(3) may lead some Licensees into believing there are "new" NRC Forms 4 and 5 other than the NRC Forms 4 and 5 already associated with the revised Part 20.
