On September 22,1982 at 4 :00 o' clock pm the following noncompliance was reported to Mr. Hale of USNRC Region IV.
Noncompliance Due to a misunderstanding on our part of Code Case N242.1 (upgrading of stock material), we elected not to add the provisions of N242.1 to our ASME Quality Systems Certificate #389 (Supplier) when it was offered two (2) years ago by ASME.
Because of this mis-interpretation, we had indeed upgraded some stock material outside the scope of NCA-3867.4(e).
In lieu of testing each piece of material as required, one piece per lot was tested.
(i.e., all material was under one (1) luch in diameter or less)
