PROPOSED SPENT FUEL SHIPPING ROUTE

Dear Mr. Rentschler:

Attached is a proposed spent fuel ahlpping route as required by 10 CFR 73.37(b)(7). The need for route approval to the Savannah River Plant (SRP) has become necessary because of conditions beyond our control which I have related to you by phone. We last used this route 9 November 1987.

It appears our shipments to INEL have been deferred indefinitely pending agreement between the Idaho State Governor and DOE.

We have NRC approval to use the BMI-l shipping package and expect to have it available for our use within the next week. There are a number of other NRC licensees who also have awaited the availability of this cask. We would appreciate your expediting the approval of this route so that we can most efficiently use this cask and release it for Other users, Sincerely yours, hk .
