FREEDOM OF INFORMATK)N ACT REQUESI,
~
SMERCURY wa oypopt HANOVER & KING STREETS POTTSTOWN PA.19464 TEL 215/323-3000 April 26, 1984 i
Dear Nuclear Regulatory Commission,
Pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act, I request, first, copies of all correspondence between the U.S.
Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and Philadelphia Electric Co.
(PE) regarding the most recent NRC Systematic Assessment of Licensee Performance (SALP) conducted to evaluate PE's per-formance during construction of the Limerick nuclear power plant.
This request is for only that correspondence between Sept.
1, 1983, and today.
It should include the SALP itself.
To the best of my knowledge, the most recent Lime ri ck SALP was completed near the end of February, 1984.
Correspondence between the NRC and PE on the August 1981 Limerick SALP is available in NRC documents kept at the Pottstown Public Library local public document room.
However, there is no record in our library of an SALP since then.
The correspondence on the recent SALP would help ex-plain how the NRC reached its conclusions about PE's per-formance.
I intend to use thir information in newspaper articles telling our readers about construction of the Limerick plant.
Secondly, pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act, I also request a list, or copies of the best documents the NRC has available, showing which contentions the NRC Atomic Safety and Licensing Board has accepted for review in the Limerick plant licensing proceedings.
i As a reporter for the Pottstown Mercury newspaper, I ask t1
.t the cost of copying the requested documents be waived.
If that is not possible, we will pay the costs.
Sincerely, 8406190001 840426 PDR FOIA Frank Warner WARNER 84-327 PDR
