TVA letter to NRC dated December 12, 1991, "Small Bore Piping Program, Tubing, and Conduit Support Plans for Unit I and 3 - Additional Information" 2.

TVA letter to NRC dated May 6, 1991, " Action Plan to Disposition Concerns Related to Units 1 and 3 Conduit and Conduit Supports" The purpose of this letter is to provide information which clarifies TVA's plans for dispositioning concerns related to Units 1 and 3 Conduit and Conduit Support Program. This information was requested by NRC during a teleconference held on January 7, 1992, to clarify the evaluation of the rod hung conduit system. This 1ctter augments the referenced TVA Ictters.

TVA's interim progre.m for the seicmic qualification of the remaining Units 1 and 3 conduit and conduit eupports will consist of engineering evaluations of these commodities. These evaluations will include the Units 1 and 3 dryvells and the areas of the reactor building which vere not included in the Unit 2 program. Conduit installation (rod hung systems and non-rod hung systems) will be evaluated against the design criteria and the Unit 2 and common enveloping calculations developed during the Unit 2 program. The Unita 1 and 3 rod hung conduit installations vill be evaluated to demonstrate that the installations are bounded by the Unit 2 calculations. Discrepancies that cannot be bounded by the Unit 2 enveloping calculations will result in further evaluations and/or physical modifications, as required. The resolution of identified discrepancies will be implemented prior to the restart of Unita 1 and 3, respectively, h$k kDD K O D
